Crowing Rooster Figurine

In ancient Chinese folk tales, the Sky Rooster is a god residing among the mulberry trees in the East China Sea. He awakens at the end of the long dark night and crows as loudly as battle trumpets to lead all the other roosters around the world in welcoming the day.

This piece is inspired by ancient folklore about the Sky Rooster. The pronunciation of “chicken” in Chinese also sounds like the phrase that means “good omen.” The golden motif on the Ruyi scepter symbolizes long lasting wealth. Prosperity is also denoted through the rich jade color of the piece that is offset by rooster’s scarlet crest in a combination that is powerful and breathtaking. This piece promises auspicious blessings and prosperity.
