Listen, the beauty is laughing inside the wall and the passerine is singing outside
Remember, once we held hand in hand, inviting the moon to enjoy wine with us
The willows sway in the breeze
In threads, as my yarning for you
I wish I could meet you again in my dream
Design concept:
This piece is inspired by Wu Guangzhong’s painting “Town in river south” from 1985.
The river south seems to be a song of youth in Wu Guangzhong’s painting. Wu Guangzhong grew up in the river south. He used a poetic touch to depict the tender and clean beauty of river south known for white walls and green bricks. In the painting “Town in river south”, the town is portrayed with somewhat abstract lines. The street scene is artistic and lively. The lively arcs in the painting form the shape of the vase. The 3-D sculpture expresses the gradation of river south’s beauty.
